Our Vision
Our vision is to provide the tools and understanding necessary to achieve a harmonious integration between the human community and the non-human community. We help people, neighbors, and friends to understand and care for their pets and those in the community. We focus on educating about responsible control and the well-being of the animal communities around us.
We Specialize in:
- Adoption of Dogs and Cats: Connecting pets in need with loving homes.
- Sterilization: Promoting responsible practices to control the animal population.
- Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR): Implementing programs to improve the quality of life for stray animals.
- Providing Food and Medications: Supplying essential resources for the well-being of pets and community animals.
United for Animal Welfare
Dedicated Volunteers and Veterinarians
Our volunteers care for and feed pets awaiting adoption. We have veterinarians who provide special rates for treatments and sterilizations.
Focus on Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR)
We implement the Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) method to humanely control stray cat colonies, educating and collaborating with the community.
Our Key Project: TNR, Feeding, and Health Care
Trap-Neuter-Return or TNR
TNR: A Humane and Effective Approach
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective way to manage feral cat colonies. Cats are trapped, taken to a veterinary clinic for spaying or neutering, vaccinated against rabies, and ear-tipped for identification. After recovery, they are returned to their original location where caretakers provide food and shelter.
TNR Benefits:
- Reduces colony size over time as cats can no longer reproduce.
- Decreases nuisance behaviors like fighting, loud meowing, and spraying.
- Improves overall cat health and helps control local rodent populations.
Feeding
Feeding: A Vital Connection
Feeding is a crucial part of caring for stray cats. Most rely on humans for their survival. By providing regular food, caretakers help maintain the cats’ health and build trust, making it easier to monitor the colony.
Caretaker Responsibilities:
- Feed cats daily to ensure their well-being.
- Establish a bond, helping to better manage and care for the colony.
Health Care
Health Care: Keeping Cats Healthy
Health care involves basic tasks to ensure the well-being of the cats. Our caretakers are responsible for:
- Cleaning and maintaining the cats’ living spaces.
- Providing baths and basic grooming as needed.
- Monitoring food intake and hydration.
- Checking for signs of injury or illness.
- Keeping records of the cats’ diet, behavior, and physical condition.
